Enjoy the freedom of take anywhere folding mobility scooters that can collapse down to a size that is great for transporting and storage.

The freedom that folding mobility scooters grant is without doubt a great quality of life improvement for many mobile infirm people. That ability to go anywhere at any time is a boon that allows you to live your life to its fullest. Trips out,
Sunday lunch at your favourite pub or restaurant, trips to the park, shopping, rock concerts, jetting off by plane or visiting far flung places by train (add formal evening wear if you are going by Orient Express) all there to be had for those
who want to get the most out of their mobile life.

Whether it’s a quick shopping trip or an around the world adventure, there are mobility scooters to suit all situations. Mobility Scooters are a good fit for most situations. They are light so they are easy to lift into a car, and as their name
suggests, they fold up so that they can be stored in smaller areas like in the boot of a car. They are less bulky than their non folding counterparts and can be used inside the home and in shops. They are light and sleek so they are easy to
maneuver onto trains and plains – ideal for adventuring further afield.

The folding scooter’s lightness and smaller size does come with it’s limitations. They are seen as convenience vehicles; they lack the comfort and suspension of some of the larger non folding scooters. They usually travel at 4 mph and are not
road legal, but are ideal for nipping to the shops along the pavement or exploring a new destination once you arrive by car.

THE BEST PLACE TO USE YOUR CLASS 2 FOLDING MOBILITY SCOOTER

Folding Mobility Scooters are categorised as Class 2, which means they are not legal for road use and they move at a maximum of 4 mph which is good walking speed. They do not require lights (though lights may be advisable if you are out and about at night).
Here is a list of ideal places that you can use your folding scooter:

  • In your home if you have difficulty moving around in doors.
  • On the pavement traveling around your local area.
  • In supermarkets whilst doing your shopping.
  • In Shopping Centres, just going with the flow of the crowds.
  • In shops that have easy access for scooters.
  • Airports and train stations if you are going on a journey.
  • Cinemas usually have great scooter access
  • Pubs and Restaurants
  • Public buildings such a libraries etc
  • Hospitals and Doctors Surgeries
  • Anywhere you see people walking that you can get access to with your scooter is yours to explore.

Needless to say, you are not limited to the above list. As mentioned above, anywhere you see people walking should be good. We see Mobility scooters as a true walking replacement, unlike some of their larger road going cousins that are almost a vehicle replacement.

Folding scooters are just perfect if you need to nip out of the house or if you have nipped into town in the car you can just unfold and go for a spot shopping and boulevarding.

Whilst you are on your folding scooter you are classed as a pedestrian and not a vehicle, so unless you are crossing try to keep off the road, and never drive down the road – police chases at 4 mph tend to be over rather quickly.

Folding Mobility Scooters have a travel range of between 6 miles and 14 miles depending on make and model.Folding Scooters are electric driven and are powered by rechargeable batteries. The size of the battery used in the scooter and the
weight of the scooter can vastly change the distance they are able to travel, which range from 6 miles up to 14 miles. No matter what your requirements, we are sure that we have a folding scooter for you. And remember, if the scooter that
you really like the look of does not meet your expected daily travel distance, you can always purchase an extra battery to take with you.

If you are the kind of person who likes to be out a lot and go on long journeys, then be aware of your POSR (point of safe return). Your POSR is the point where you will just have enough power to get back to your home base. Always be mindful of how far you are away from home and the charge left in your folding scooter.
This also goes for if you only make short trips each day, but do not charge your scooter every night. Once you start using your scooter you will get a good feel for how much charge it will use on an average trip you make. As a precaution,
make your first couple of trips out closer to home rather than making your first test run a marathon outing.

They are the ideal vehicle to let you travel with the crowds, giving you access to indoor spaces that may not be non-foldable scooter friendly. Their light weight means that, when folded, they can be easily stored in the boot of a car or loaded onto a train, bus or plane with no hardships.

Do you feel that you are having some difficulty with your mobility at the moment? Are you finding that you can’t walk as far as you used to? Maybe a folding scooter is exactly what you need to get you back up and out and about again. Life is better on the move.
